This week José Eugenio Ortiz from the UPM team, one of our partners in DEQ, visited Brussels as part of the Raw Materials Week where he introduced our European Commissioned-funded and ANEFA-led project to a mining sector and innovation-focused audience in a hybrid podium discussion organized by the ROBOMINERSproject and moderated by Vitor Correia. The conference aimed to present the key outcomes of the projects and facilitate discussions on the technological future of mining in Europe.
During this event, we had interesting and inspiring discussions on the future of mining, technology uptake, and digitalisation in mining with our sister projects also from the European Commission Dig_IT, ROBOMINERSproject, Illumineation, MasterMine Software, Inc., as well as UNEXMIN GeoRobotics Ltd. Together they debated the latest technological developments to minimize the environmental impact of mineral extraction.
Philipp Hartlieb, from our project partner Montanuniversität Leoben was also present in this event and explored promising technological developments to minimize the environmental impact of mineral extraction, underscoring the significance of EU research in this domain.
