CHALMERS TEKNISKA HOEGSKOLA – CHALMERS

Chalmers Rock Processing Systems (CRPS) is a research group within the department of Industrial and Materials Science at Chalmers University of Technology (CHALMERS). The core research areas include modelling and simulation of crushing and screening equipment both coarse and fine processing, process control including development of crusher control units and process wide MPC, online and offline optimisation of equipment, process and functionality and finally environmental estimation for aggregates production including drilling, blasting transport and crushing and screening.

The applications cover different aspect of process improvements for both the aggregate industry as well as for the mining sector and dimensional stones. CRPS is one of the founding members of the Global comminution collaborative, member of SBMI (Swedish aggregate producers’ association), member of EIT raw materials and has an extensive research involvement in AMIRA international.

The research from the CRPS group is often done in close collaboration with the Swedish aggregate industry and over the years has included collaboration with equipment manufacturers such as Sandvik, Metso and FLS, as well as with other research organisations such as the Fraunhofer institute (FCC) and the Swedish Environmental institute (IVL). CRPS is one of the leading research groups focusing on aggregates production in Europe.

Role: Developer of Environmental simulation platform within KTA6, Pilot in all Pilots #1 to #5.
